You do know kiss has more gold albums than any American rock band and I believe second to only the Beatles for the most gold albums all time that's pretty good company to be in , my point you said kiss chose shock value over talent, it takes talent to have multiple gold and platinum albums.

They might just been blowing up in America but they started as a deathcore band from the UK, they do suck alot now. The most I miss about old Slipknot shows is the Joey drum solo's, those were epic.

You need to get your information straight on the Loveparade! It was held successful for many years in BerlinI You showed pictures of it. There was NO INTENTION of getting a million people into it in Duisburg. I remember Loveparade 2010 Duisburg very good. We actually thought about going but it was too late that day, so we watched it from our house on TV. The organizer was just interested into money and the city did its part, eyeing festival goers and the money that came with it. The event should never ever have been approved and they all pretty much got away with it. A very sad day and had nothing to do with what Loverparade stands for. It should be what it was about, not about money. Please look into it, before you post false information!

I was at Bull Island 1972. Yep, I'm an old timer, was 19 at the time. We had a great time--my first rock fest. Of course, it would have been the best fest ever if all bands showed up, but still had a good time. We lost the people, we rode hours to get there with, like immediately with no cell phones. These videos focus on all the bad stuff at Bull Island. My friend and I was up close to the stage and didn't venture out too far. People helped others. When it rained, someone handed us a piece of plastic to keep dry. People handed me food and water, and so many people took photos and film of me. I'm glad I went.

I love coming back to this vid it really shows that under the dark and brooding nature of metal and similar genres we want to go ape shit but we can all agree we ain't trying to get too fucked up and wanna make sure everyone gets back home. Good video overall but clearly he let his personal bias effect the final product. At the start he mentioned a lot of bands giving them credit for starting the genre but didnt mention Black Sabbath. MC5 is a hard rock band that did have influence on metal but they are NOT heavy metal. Even moreso for Alice Cooper. Also to barely mention Metallica as an afterthought is ridiculous. Like then or not they are almost certainly the biggest selling and highest grossing live act in the genre. In fact it isnt a stretch to say if you took those other hundred bands he talked about and up all there totals Metallica's numbers for those 2 metrics are higher. That would be like doing a history of rock and roll and not mentioning Elvis and the Beatles.

Well I just watched this whole series without realizing it. Don't really care for cruises but I fully agree with the whole scheduling bands to play in the wee hours of the morning is just stupid. Not all metalheads are night owls so that's kind of annoying. Sorry you didn't get to see Wolfheart, they're one of my favorites. Even met the vocalist after a show once and he was a very chill easy going guy with a hell of a voice. Thank you for putting this whole series together. The footage is great, the commentary is perfect, and the jokes are on point.

if you're gonna make a second part of this video, an incident definitely worth mentioning is argentina's 2004 cromañón incident (spelled cruh-mah-nee-on) it was mostly caused by bad event organization in a closed space, where all emergency exits were closed and locked. the incident began when the band "callejeros" started their show, in which someone lit up a flare and threw it on-stage, causing the huge flag behind them to burn and emit toxic gasses. 194 people died and 1432 were injured, and (in my opinion) holds up as the worst rock music incident of all time. i'm honestly surprised i don't see that many people talking about it "historias innecesarias" has a very good detailed video on it if you wanna check it out, even though it's in spanish!
